This thesis entitled “The Development of Knowledge Sets for Promoting Self-Esteem with Buddhist Integration of Student in Wat Rai Khing Wittaya School” has three objectives: 1) to study the problems and impacts of lacking self-esteem of students, 2) to create knowledge-promoting self-esteem and integrated Buddhist practice for students, and 3) to present the integrated Buddhist knowledge on the students’ realization of self-esteem.
This is a Quantitative research done through the mixed research methodology. In this research, a group of students was used as population where the Rubin's Self Esteem Scale ready-made data test was also employed; of them forty-seven students of Wat Rai Khing Wittaya School were collected by using as a sample group for the test (Rubin's Self's ready-made data test), the Esteem scale done by the purposive sampling was also used to determine frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. The test of the measurement data before and after the experiment (pretest-posttest) and measuring 64 points by specifying the theoretical range of scores from 62 to 190 in the classification of the score of self-esteem were done. Once collected, the relevant data were analyzed where the usage of recreational activities on various learning processes was made through the Buddhist Integrated approach by means of studying the emotions, behaviors, and abilities of high school third years students being served as target groups. After that the researcher organized activities and stayed with students all day. To collect information and assess students for the development of knowledge sets, promoting self-esteem by means of the Buddhist integrated approach of the students of Wat Rai Khing Wittaya School, the data were grouped according to the essence of the issue from the defined quantitative data and then the data analysis was done through the content analysis technique.
The research results showed that:
1) The results gained from the analysis of Self-concept thirty questions were found that out of the positive questions, the question No. 17 was at highest level: I am an anxious person, and the most negative question is No. 17: I am an anxious person by comparing before and after.
2) The analysis of Self-Esteem Scale test out of ten was showed that there was no difference in the positive test after or before experimentation. Such a negative test after or before experiment contains no difference at all.
3) The results gained from an analysis of the 22 Self-Esteem Scale were found that the mean score on the self-concept (Self-Concept Rating) was of positive and negative derived from the development of a knowledge sets, promoting self-esteem Buddhist integrated approach of the students of Wat Rai Khing Wittaya School, it showed that after the experiment it was of more statistically significant than before at the level of 0.05.
4) The results gained from interview showed that the students’ participation in the activities was of good results; it showed the better level than the previous one and thereby agreeing that the mentioned activities could be effectively used to improve students where Yonisomanasikãra could be also implemented to solve the problem in life. Once developed, they could apply those activities into their daily life respectively.
