แนวทางการจัดกิจกรรมวันธรรมสวนะ: กรณีศึกษาวัดอ่างศิลา ตำบลนนทรี อำเภอกบินทร์บุรี จังหวัดปราจีนบุรี

    In this thesis, three objectives were purposely made: 1) to study the history of a day of hearing Dhamma in Theravada Buddhism, 2) to study the states of problem in organizing the Buddhist activity of Wat Angsila, Nonsi Sub-district, Kabin Buri District, Prachin Buri Province, and 3) to propose the guidelines in organizing the activity in the day of hearing Dhamma of Angsila, Nonsi Sub-district, Kabin Buri District, Prachin Buri Province. This research employed the qualitative research methodology done by studying Buddhist scriptures and in-depth interview of twenty key informants.

   The research results were found that the day of hearing the Dhamma basically means the day Buddhists make merit and observe certain precepts including mental development in order to be mindful where wisdom could be caused with a view to bringing about goodness while living life. It is said that the day of hearing the Dhamma may be mostly called a Buddhist holy day, a precept observational day, an observance day where its aim is to encourage Buddhist people to make merit, observe the precept, listen to the Dhamma including performing various activities involved Buddhism. They are assigned to sustain Buddhism as long as possible. Accordingly, the ways leading to do perfection in Buddhism are of three steps, generosity, precepts observation, and mental development.

As far as the states of problem in organizing the activity in the day of hearing the Dhamma for the propagation of Buddhism are concerned, Wat Angsila has certain problems needed to be solved while organizing the activity, that is, support in the development of methods to promote Buddhist principles to general people in the community according to their faith where their mind would become wholesome. Those problems are of: 1) technological problem, 2) environmental problem, 3) man problem, and 4) budget problem.

When it comes to guidelines in organizing the activity in the day of hearing the Dhamma of Wat Angsila, Nonsi Sub-district, Kabin Buri District, Prachin Buri Province, it is found that Buddhist people in the community applied those teachings to their living life. This is regarded as the main activity in propagating the culture and arts and its exchanges. Therefore, the day of hearing the Dhamma is holier than other day in a month as the Buddhists can purify their bodily, verbally and mentally actions. By virtue of this, it becomes necessary for Buddhist people to listen to the Dhamma due to its suitable time whereby mental and physical purity could be actualized resulting in the most blessing actions.
