การพัฒนาการมีส่วนร่วมทางการเมืองในระบอบประชาธิปไตยของนิสิตมหาวิทยาลัยสงฆ์แห่งคณะสงฆ์ไทย

Objectives of this dissertation were: 1. To study the general condition of political participation development in the democracy of Buddisht Students of Thai Sangha University. 2. To study the factors affecting political participation development in the democracy of Buddisht Students of Thai Sangha University and 3. To apply Buddhist principles for the development of political participation in the democracy of Buddisht Students of Thai Sangha University.

Methodology was the mixed methods: The qualitative research, data were collected from 20 key informants with structured in-depth-interview transcript by in-depth interviewing and analyzed by descriptive interpretation. The quantitative research, data were collected from 243 samples, derived from 618 conscripts from students of political science, Department of Public Administration of MCU using Taro Yamane’s formular with the statistical significance level set at 0.05 and data were analyzed by Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Simple Linear Regression Analysis and Stepwise Regression Analysis. 

Findings were as follows:

1. The condition of political participation in democracy Buddisht students of Thai Sangha University. Students can participate in political activities as usual. There is a teaching of politics and governance. Students, including laymen and monks are integrated and applied the principles of teaching in the course. The course has dharma practice for socializing citizenship in a democratic way with students from many professions. Political participation in the democracy of students Overall, it was at a moderate level as follows: Participation in local government, public hearing, referendum vote, law nomination, removal of politicians and high-ranking officials from office, co-establishment and membership of political parties and participation in the constitutional amendment process, respectively.

2. Factors of social coercion affecting political participation development in the democracy system of Buddhist Students of Thai Sangha University. Overall, they were at a high level as follows: The following were family institutions (X1), friends and communities (X3), online media (X4), and educational institutions (X2), respectively, and social cohesion factors, all four of which could jointly explain the variation in participation development. Political participation development in democracy of Buddhist students of Thai Sangha University (Y) was 45.6%, with standard regression coefficients (X1, X3, X2, X4) being 0.478, 0.359, 0.321 and 0.278, respectively.

3. Application of the principle of morality for The students must have discipline in political participation, Students are responsible for political activities. have social responsibility to society as a whole Adhere to the principles of the constitution for citizens under the democratic regime to practice. Everyone has the rights to freedom to participate in political activities in accordance with the procedures established by the political institutions. Respect and protect good politicians to run the country. Organizing teaching and learning courses to have theory along with practice, including setting up a political science club Organizing activities, organizing activities to educate, raise awareness and create political awareness Join a political party Establishment of learning centers, political science clubs in all campuses, and monastic colleges in 42provinces, together with government agencies or local government organizations to provide advice and recommendations, public relations based on activities such as election activities public hearing referendum.
